Friday 17th October

Ashley Meadows- pump.works well.  Both cattle half way up the field near the west fence. Both eating, moving slowly and clean. They were alert and looked up to see me when I was not far from.the gate.

Western Fen- pump works well. Luckily one of the cattle was visible from.the gate. All three were in the middle of the field level with the southern gate. All three alert, clean and  eating and moving slowly. They had chosen a particularly wet part of the field.

13th Oct - Jo

Checked the cattle yesterday, the Ashley Meadows pair were sat in the middle of the meadow happily relaxing. The Western Fen 3 were all sat by the gate which was handy, 1 stood up when they saw me. All looked well. As I walked to the viewing screens I could then see 2 walking towards the south of the fen.

Friday 10th October 2025

Ashley Meadows- the two cattle were by the west gate when we arrived.  They were eating and moving slowly.

Western Fen- all three were close together and visible from the gate.  They were quietly eating and moving slowly.

Thurs. 9th Oct - David's pleasant stroll to see 5 TB-free Cattle!

All looking good in both Enclosures. Both pumps working. Cattle grazing contentedly.

Western Fen, spread out over centre and western side. One came over. Others just looked.

Ashley Meadow, both on North Eastern side, ambled towards me as I went in. One came right up which saved walking. Wet under foot, but not as bad as it has been.

TB test update

All the cattle tested negative at the follow up TB test which is great. The grazing team will be taking all the cattle off soon, no date yet though.

Friday 3rd October 2025

Ashley Meadows- Both were sitting in the middle of the  field about 100 m from.thr gate. They looked up to see us when we we arrived at the gate. The pump works. The electric fence doesn't.

Western Fen-  Pump.works. Standing on the support for the pump, and using binoculars,   saw one far off in the West. I walked across the field and found the other two. They were spread across the field roughly level with the south gate. All were eating and slowly moving. 2 looked up to see me.

David's Surprise - Thursday 2nd October!

Went for a stroll up to Ashley Meadows and the Western Fen. I wasn't expecting to see the cows, as I thought that they were leaving today, after the TB test for those in Western Fen.

Anyway, they were all present!

Ashley Meadow.
About 75 yards up in the centre. Eating and OK.

Western Fen.
All three about 150 yards up, towards the western side. Eating, then looking over to me at the gate. Slowly moved towards me, then a bit of a rush over. All three looking clean and healthy.

My hope, given that the TB test was supposed to be today, is that they are all OK and tested negative?

Any updates, please?

Wednesday 1st oct

Got the western fen cows into the corral to keep them used to it ahead of the TB read tomorrow. One was quite excitable, but probably because of the bucket of cow nuts.

All well and looking good.

Monday 29th sept

Western fen cows had the initial tb test injection, all went well and were put back into the fen.
